This is really one of his masterpieces - or A Perfect Combination Noble/Bowlly. The ensemble behind Al is wonderful, really. Muted trumpet at first, the reed section, the delicate piano playing and the clarinet at the end. One of the best of his approx 900 recordings!

Wonderful record one of my favourite songs Al bowlly is a superb singer and in my opinion the best singer of the 1930s thanks for sharing this great record.

I came to this through an episode of Hercule Poirot (The Hollow), where it was playing in the background of one of the scenes, and followed it up. I like the orchestration very much.
