More subtle than Doris Day and Julie London put together.

I love how modern artists can’t cover this song properly but almost every single old artist that covers it sounds amazing

Betty Hutton is a cautionary tale about Hollywood, and stupid decisions from major movie stars who should know better. Hutton, fired from Paramount, for reasons too stupid to go into, was offered the part of Ado Annie in the movie version of Oklahoma! incredibly, she turned it down, as not big enough, and lived, we are sure, in extreme regret, or should have, because she was essentially through in Hollywood, nobody would hire her for another picture because of what happened at Paramount. stupid sabotage of your career makes you end up like Hutton, desperate for any appearance on TV, until... very sad, indeed. think of her as Ado Annie...peerless, perhaps an Oscar nomination. but no, if you are that crazy and stupid, you know?
