Def love all sides of this guy, from Earth Day to songs like this..It really makes you examine metal bands who shovel out the same shit every cd..really who is just one emotion and personality?

Saw him live two days ago in LA. I can easily say that his live is much much better than the album.

No, you are right, i perhaps should have said they both incorporate those styles into their music.

Townsend is at least sometimes. He has some pure ambient albums.

By the way Insurgentes is one of my favourite albums, some amazing music there. I remember the first time I heard it, I was in a particularly crappy mood and was off walking around the British countryside near our house on a very grey, rainy, misty day. The music just fit perfectly with the weather and the scenery and I was blown away. Loved it ever since.

The ending noises make the whole song feel so organic. You can just feel Devin casually putting down his guitar and leaving the studio room. Awesome.
