used to go up west in the early 60s and see them playing in some basement on friday nights, an early mod group

used to go up West [like Frank,]but obviously to different clubs.[mine was the Scene, best music ,dancers, etc.one of the tunes I personally would request was ALL NIGHT WORKER,the"B"SIDE of JUMP BACK[THE ORIGINAL version by RUFUS THOMAS] if the DJ had played this, there would have been uproar!!this club was the sub division of mods, who possibly, like Me,often had the original LONG before all these White British copies appeared!!take a listen to the original, for Me there is no comparison!!

the version by RUFUS THOMAS is from 1964,and as often the case, this is 1996,the crap DJs we had in England, could never be relied on to keep people informed,so you had to do your own searching,or settle for the second rate copies! I could play most of the sixties hits,[ but the originals,] not the years later attempts,by these would be soul men. I always got angry about this, because where"s the fair competition??
