He still sounds really good....older, but good. I think the problem was how they were marketing him at this point and having him record this type of pop material. Kids were probably expecting and hoping for him to be singing the same type of rock & roll/r & b material he sang with the Teenagers, while adults were not ready to buy a 16 year old singing pop. At least we have these recordings to enjoy now.
