I remember Herman Foster when I saw him on Bleecker Street in Greenwich Village playing at a jazz club "Jacques". He was a great pianist who should of been more recognized. Full of energy, soul, and life is the best way I can describe him. Yes, he was "explosive" but explosive with dynamics he could control and not some loud jerk banging the piano! He was great.
