As I set out one night
Alone into the dark
I came across death
Walking the same dark road as I
His eyes were yellow and bright
And hung like lantern lights
As I stood at the intersection
Of life and death with bated breath
Ten to one
The countdown has begun
The curtain falls
The play is done
On the road to the stormy sky
Where the sickle shaped clouds hang high
He stood there beheading daisies
A subtle breeze soothing the amputees
He whispered with his rotten breath
You owe nothing to the world but death
The grave does not distinguish
Which is which, the poor or rich
Ten to one

For these wrists that I’ve reddened with a knife
But at least I can say I loved
And yes of course I feel remorse
But to tell me what’s the use to weep
All alone in the fathomless deep
When death is just a dreamless sleep
Like falling snow into the ground we go
