Between Martha and the Vandellas and the David Bowie/Mick Jagger versions both have their strengths and weaknesses but the Martha and the Vandellas kick butt with their version

Nothing beats the original in this case. None of the covers can do it justice.

Has anyone seen the music video for the David Bowie and Mick Jagger cover? It’s pure cringe, trust me. Both are great artists, and respect where respect is due. But it felt unnatural and banal as it clashed heavily with the styles of the two musicians, both visually and musically. Like... okay. You know the very end of the “Despacito” cover TwoCellos did? Where they’re just kinda singing the song but neither of them know spanish or can dance so it’s just a couple of white dudes, who while are very talented, are out of their element... and it shows.

Amazing song but why are the vocals in this completely cut out by the instruments?
