My father played with a lot of the musicians Pete played with. When Pete had a gig in Florida, he would stop at our place in Fairhope, AL and give us some of his home made cracklin.

Jack Normand-he was the orchestra leader at the Grand Hotel (now a Marriott) in Point Clear, AL from 1941 until WWII. Then he came back in 1951 and was there 40 years. My brothers carried on the band for another 10 yrs. See my site grandband click on "History" for pics and music

AS PETE always said "I speak with my horn" and he is the most eloquent speaker of all with that horn.

Met Mr. Fountain in the lobby of The Roosevelt Hotel once, he played the Blue Room. A real class act, a true man of Jazz. R.I.P.
