Gotta learn more about what hardcore was about man. Bands like Bad Brains, Dead Kennedys, Black Flag etc are the reason why hardcore exists. Check out the documentary American Hardcore, one of the best documentaries I have ever watched.

There actually is such a thing as screamo. Ever heard of bands like Orchid or Funeral Diner? Screamo was a very real genre of music, and the new wave of bands like Touchè Amorè and La Dispute are screamo.
