Yip Harburg wrote this song, also all the songs in Wizard of Oz, including Over the Rainbow. Was a blue collar businessman. A flaming Commie, who wrote amazing songs as a side gig. Commies nowdays are lame.

It has. I have been looking for a job since January 2003.
I have been doing odd jobs through a church group the last four years.. I have five degrees, Master Mechanic Certification, 17 years Automotive Technical Writing experience and am a published author.
My only real hope was Ron Paul--the only candidate who had a clue about economics and history. Now (June 2012) we have a choice between two ignorant, arrogant Harvard socialists in Obama and Romney. Phooey!

If anything blame the people for being uninformed and voting for people who put political gain ahead of governing. Those party line votes tell a story that an educated well informed person can clearly see. and it is not blaming the President at all.

Up till now, I had only ever heard this song by Bing Crosby. This is such an up beat version from that great American Orchestra led by Rudy Vallee. Lovely to hear this version & thanks for posting

President Obama gave us the closest to a depression in the 21st century, a recession. 8 years of price hikes, stagnant wages, disappearing jobs and dividing everyone up with racism,sexism, and a tossing of all morals out the window to add to the misery. Thanks pal, can you spare a dime?
