History of Satanic Majesties Request In Early 1967 The Rolling Stones Released Between the Buttons which was a pop-filled album with hits Let’s Spend the Night Together and Ruby Tuesday. Drug chargers and jailing after this prevented them from getting to recording sessions. Songs left over from Between the Buttons were released on Flowers in mid-1967. Soon after Sgt Pepper Came Out by the Beatles. The Rolling Stones wanted a chance on something like this. Jailings and court appearances prevented them from getting to recording sessions. The jailings became less frequent by September and they were able to make this psycadelic album in 3 months.

An orgy of rock, African drums, Asiatic chanting, dialogue, yelling, orchestra, piano, mellotrons and Rolling Stone craziness.I love it!

Read the Lord of the Rings many times with this as one of the albums I listened to. Many years ago.

I love ‘Piper...’, but I think this exceeds it for ‘67-era grooviness. Of course, ‘Pepper’ rules, too.
