(for that era) introduced in the show by Tony Martin. Before its short Broadway run had ended, Tommy Dorsey recorded "All the Things You Are" with band vocalist Jack Leonard. It immediately hit the charts, staying for thirteen weeks and peaking at Number 1.
Other classic versions include those recorded by Artie Shaw with Helen Forrest (1939) for Victor Bluebird and Frank Sinatra (1944) for Columbia (also issued as a "V-Disc").
These are arguably the three finest recordings.
